Welcome to the profile of Mark Summers, an artist with BoundlessGallery.com.
Art has always been a part of my life. God blessed me with a gift. I started painting in high school. I have won several art & photography awards and honors. After I met and married the woman I would spend the rest of my life with, I laid painting aside to work and care for my family and focused more on the photography. In August of 2000, my wife nearly died from Leukemia. But God spared her life. In January of 2001 she had a non related bone marrow transplant. Through it all, God showed us favor and proved Himself Faithful. During this time, I started having physical difficulties. I was diagnosed with Chronic progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Though I am considered disabled, I can't drive or do many of the things I used to take for granted. They are not only difficult, but often painful. But I want to do everything I can. So I started painting again. This life isn't about how easy I can have it, but to fight, to perservere, to trust that my God is working all things together for my good. For me painting is my way of expressing that truth. Art is more than a gift to me, it is a gift for me to share with others. It empowers me to express feelings, emotions, and inner desires that we all can relate to. A painting isn't finished until I feel it! I hope you are blessed as you look at my art and that you feel it too!
